SMAN 1 TELADAN CARRIES OUT “RERESIK MALIOBORO”
Tuesday, December 19th, 2023. The "Reresik Malioboro" event was accompanied by a beautiful morning and enthusiastic grins from students of SMA N 1 Teladan Yogyakarta. This event was part of the 66th TELADAN Anniversary celebration. This event consisted of students from classes X and XI, as well as 30 teachers who accompanied them. This action began with a gathering at the SMA N 1 TELADAN volleyball field, followed by participants leaving after a united prayer and a welcome from the school principal. "Hopefully, this activity will go smoothly and have a direct impact on ourselves and others in general." "Please be careful on the road and maintain order," Mr.Jumadi said.

The students participated in this activity by picking up trash along Malioboro Street and the North Square. They were divided into many groups and dispersed throughout those two places. The trash was collected and placed in a "plastic bag" carried by representatives from each class. After collecting the trash, they turned it over to Environmental services in the Malioboro area, and some of the remaining trash was carried to the school to be handled by the school's Bangling. |

"I am very pleased to be able to participate in this activity because this is an actual way of preserving cleanliness," one of the students stated. Along Malioboro Street, I found a lot of plastic trash and cigarette butts. My hope is that tourists can dispose of their trash in places that are easily accessible in the Malioboro region. The tangible efforts I wish to take to improve the cleanliness of Malioboro include avoiding throwing up any trash, even if it is simply plastic or little trash. Apart from that, I will at least remind my friends to dispose of trash properly." Vaivel, a class XI student at SMA N 1 Teladan Yogyakarta, spoke ahead. |
There were many volunteers from many groups that participated in this activity, so the students became more eager and motivated to be able to do a lot for the cleanliness of Malioboro. "Thank God, the entire series of activities for Teladan's 66th Anniversary went smoothly, including this morning's activities; the participants were very enthusiastic and positively welcomed the Malioboro rehearsal activities this time in the hope that this could have an impact on Teladan's students’ daily lives. “They can sort organic and non-organic waste so that it can be useful," Katon Dian, a member of the Malioboro Reresik committee, explained.
The event ended in front of the “Pendopo Agung” as a meeting point. The committee and representatives from each class gathered organic garbage for DLH and non-organic rubbish for SMA N 1 Teladan to handle. All participants and accompanying teachers captured the event in a group photograph. After all of the activities were completed, all of the participants returned to school and gathered on the basketball court for a little break before sharing their experiences and messages about the activities with the committee and companion teachers.
