Yogyakarta 1 High School Students Collaborate with Brimob to Explore Palaces and Take Environmental Action

During a visit to Yogyakarta Palace, class X students for the 2024–2025 academic year attended SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, which reaffirmed its commitment to training a generation of character. This project incorporates environmental care activities with the theme of local wisdom as part of the P5 Project for Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students.

The head of the school conducted a release ceremony in the courtyard of N1 Yogyakarta High School to kick off the event. The school's head hoped that this practice would reinforce Pancasila's environmental consciousness and principles in his greeting.

Following the ceremony, the students respectfully walked to the Keraton in Yogyakarta while conducting a “pungut sampah” as a form of environmental education along the route.

Students get the chance to investigate a variety of historical and cultural facets as P5 data material when they arrive at Keraton. Students' appreciation of culture and their historical legacy are strengthened by this tour, which also broadens their understanding of local wisdom.

The fact that students are escorted back to school by a fleet of buses and vehicles from Brimob adds even more specialness to this activity. In addition to providing a means of transportation, Brimob's assistance also represents the cooperation between the police and educational institutions in promoting learning and community service.

Students will never forget this visit, which combined deep learning about traditional knowledge, environmental conservation, and strong cooperation with multiple stakeholders. For SMA N 1 Yogyakarta, this is a significant step towards creating a generation that values their culture and the environment in addition to intelligence and knowledge. (Lestari)
